TT Nagar police bust vehicle theft gang

  • Four arrested, 7 stolen two-wheelers recovered

Bhopal: TT Nagar police announced they had solved a series of vehicle thefts on Monday, leading to the arrest of four people, including two minors, and the recovery of seven stolen two-wheelers valued at Rs 7 lakh. The investigation was initiated following a complaint lodged by Suresh Abichandani on August 4, regarding the theft of his motorcycle, which had disappeared from outside his home.

In response to the complaint, TT Nagar police station in-charge Gourav Dohare ordered enhanced patrolling and established vehicle checkpoints in the area. During one such operation, officers stopped a motorcycle occupied by three men, including a juvenile. None could provide valid ownership documents, leading to further questioning.

6 more bikes recovered

The suspects, identified as Sajan alias Rinku Verma (20) and Anees Khan (27), along with the juveniles, confessed to stealing the motorcycle and admitted involvement in multiple thefts across different locations. Following their disclosures, six additional motorcycles were recovered.

On August 10, as part of ongoing efforts to curb vehicle thefts, police apprehended another juvenile riding a motorcycle on Atal Path road without valid papers. Surveillance footage confirmed the bike’s connection to the earlier theft, leading to the juvenile’s confession and immediate detention.

The police are continuing their investigation to determine if the arrested individuals are linked to other theft incidents in the city.
