Bhopal: In a focused effort to promote cleanliness and public awareness, the Bhopal Railway Division has launched a special sanitation campaign leading up to Independence Day. The initiative, guided by Divisional Railway Manager Pankaj Tyagi, is running from August 1st to August 15th, targeting all railway stations, offices, colonies, and other facilities within the division.
= Engaging the community for a cleaner environment
This comprehensive campaign goes beyond simple cleaning. It actively involves railway staff, officials, schoolchildren, and various community organizations through a series of programs. These include cleanliness pledges, morning rallies, street plays, and workshops aimed at raising public consciousness. Key messages are being promoted to discourage the use of plastic, encourage proper use of dustbins, and advocate for waste segregation.
A special focus is being placed on deep cleaning stations, platforms, railway colonies, and health units. This includes clearing drains and pipelines, maintaining toilets, and ensuring proper waste disposal. The initiative also emphasizes water conservation and the upkeep of green spaces and water bodies.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Kataria highlighted that the campaign seeks to involve passengers as well, urging them to help keep stations and trains clean through public announcements and informational pamphlets. The collective effort aims to make the Bhopal Railway Division a cleaner, greener, and more responsible place, symbolizing a renewed commitment to a better environment this Independence Day.
