Congress to hold Freedom Light Night March on Aug 14

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 12 (UNI) In support of Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi’s fight against the alleged vote loot perpetrated by the BJP and its government, which undermines a free and fair democratic process, the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee will hold a Freedom Light Night March at 8 pm on August 14.
KPCC President Sunny Joseph said the Congress will also organise state-wide protests on August 12 against the arrest of AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and INDIA bloc MPs. They were taken into custody for protesting alleged irregularities in the electoral roll.
Protest marches will be held in the evening under the leadership of Block Congress Committees across the state.
The KPCC chief said the August 14 march will be a symbolic show of solidarity with Rahul Gandhi’s ongoing campaign to safeguard democratic values and ensure free and fair elections in the country.
“Vote theft is not just an electoral scam, it is a major betrayal committed against the Constitution and democracy. Let the nation’s culprits hear this – times will change, punishment will surely be meted out,” Rahul Gandhi said.
Rahul Gandhi said 1,00,250 “fake votes” were created in the Mahadevapura Assembly segment in the Bangalore Central Lok Sabha constituency in Karnataka to ensure a win for the BJP.
Giving a detailed presentation of the alleged ‘fraud’ at the Congress headquarters in Delhi, the LoP alleged that “collusion” had happened between the Election Commission of India and the BJP, which resulted in Prime Minister Narendra Modi securing his third term.
“Narendra Modi became Prime Minister with just a margin of 25 seats…Election Commission is helping BJP destroy the electoral system in India…The Election Commission is not giving us the data because of what we did in Mahadevpur (Karnataka Assembly constituency); if we do it in other Lok Sabha seats, then the truth about our democracy will come out. This is the evidence, criminal evidence (pointing to the physical voter list),” Rahul Gandhi said.
