New Delhi, Aug 7 (UNI) The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today came under fire from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after AAP MP Sanjay Singh questioned the impartiality of the Election Commission.
Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva dismissed the allegations as a sign of “political frustration”, claiming that AAP leaders are struggling to cope with their electoral defeat.
Sachdeva stated that not only Sanjay Singh but also AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal has lost relevance in the opposition’s political landscape. He accused AAP leaders of trying to stay in the headlines by attacking constitutional institutions instead of reflecting on their own governance failures.
The BJP leader further said that AAP’s defeat in the Delhi elections was a result of “public dissatisfaction” with their government’s performance, marked by allegations of “mismanagement and corruption”. He criticised AAP for blaming the Election Commission six months after the results, calling it an attempt to deflect attention from their own shortcomings.
Sachdeva described Singh’s remarks as an “insult to democracy” and urged AAP to introspect rather than make baseless allegations. Meanwhile, AAP has yet to respond to the BJP’s latest criticism.
The exchange highlights the ongoing political tensions between the two parties, with AAP continuing to challenge the BJP’s dominance in national politics.
