A five-year-old girl from the Kokta area of Bhopal tragically lost her life after falling from the roof of an under-construction house on Monday evening. According to police reports, the child, identified as Kamni Bansal, was playing unsupervised when she climbed to the first floor and accidentally fell from an unbarricaded roof.

At the time of the incident, her father, Sharwan Bansal, was engaged in a conversation with a contractor, while her mother was busy washing utensils. The accident occurred around 5:30 PM. Despite immediate medical attention, Kamni succumbed to her injuries early Wednesday morning at approximately 7 AM.

Family had relocated to Bhopal for work

The Bilkhiriya police station house officer (SHO), Umesh Chouhan, shared details about the incident, noting that Kamni lived with her parents in the Rajdhani Campus of Kokta. Originally from the Damoh district, the family had relocated to Bhopal for work, with Sharwan employed as a mason.

Kamni’s fall was witnessed by neighbors, who promptly informed her father. He rushed his injured daughter to the hospital, where doctors reported that she had sustained severe head injuries from the fall. Despite their best efforts, they were unable to save her.
