Sewa Sadan and Bhopal Utsav Mela Samiti organize eye camp

  • 52 cataract patients will get eyesight

Bhopal: A free eye test and cataract surgery camp was organized today at Balaji Fracture Hospital in Sonagiri. The camp was organized in joint efforts of Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital and Bhopal Utsav Mela samiti. The camp was inaugurated by Balaji hospital chairmen, samiti officials and trustee of Sewa Sadan with garlanding the pictures of deities and lighting lamps.

As many as 198 patients were examined, including 109 men and 89 women. During the examination, cataract was confirmed in 52 patients, who were brought to Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital and admitted. Free accommodation, fruits, milk, medicines and food have been arranged for all the identified patients. Their surgeries will be done by senior eye surgeons on Monday. Free medicines were distributed to other patients and their blood pressure and diabetes were also checked.

Over a thousand patients screened through camps

This was the sixth camp in the series of eye camps being organized during monsoon in Bhopal. So far, more than a thousand patients have been screened through these camps, out of which 278 patients have undergone successful cataract surgery. The next camp will be organized on Sunday, 17 August 2025 at A.B.M. School, near Police Ground, Nehru Nagar Bhopal.

On this occasion, prominent people present included Balaji hospital chairman Dr. Mahesh Gupta, Omprakash Basal, public representatives Chhaya Thakur, Santosh Gwala, Daljit Singh, Pradeep Lodhi, Bhopal Utsav Mela Samiti’s Narayan Singh Kushwaha, Chandra Shekhar Soni, Kamal Jain, Virendra Jain, along with Sewa Sadan trustee Suresh Awatramani and his team played an active role.
