New Delhi, July 30 (UNI) India have been into Group C alongside Japan, Vietnam and Chinese Taipei for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 to be held in Australia from March 1 to 26, 2026.
India will play all their group stage matches in Perth Rectangular Stadium. They will open their campaign on 7 March against Chinese Taipei, followed by matches against Japan and Vietnam.
Indian Midfielder Sangita Basfore was one of the three draw assistants at the ceremony held at Sydney Town Hall, along with Tameka Yallop from Australia and Jeon Yu-gyeong from the Republic of Korea.
A total of 12 teams have been divided into three groups of four. The top two teams from each group, along with the two best third placed sides, will qualify for the quarter finals. India had been placed in the Pot 4 prior to the draw, alongside Iran and Bangladesh, based on the latest FIFA rankings.
Blue Tigresses, who topped Group B in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers after wins over Thailand, Iraq, Timor-Leste and Mongolia, will begin their campaign against Vietnam on March 4, 2026.
