New Delhi, July 28 (UNI) Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi here today and briefed him on the strides his state has taken across socio-economic indicators and the near saturation of major welfare schemes.
The Prime Minister’s Office said in post on X “CM of Assam, Shri @himantabiswa met Prime Minister @narendramodi.”
The Assam Chief Minister said on X ‘’had the privilege of calling upon Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji in New Delhi today. Briefed him on Assam’s notable strides across socio-economic indicators and the near saturation of major welfare schemes.’’
The Chief Minister said that on behalf of the people of Assam, he conveyed anticipation to welcome the Prime Minister on September 8, ‘’a moment that will mark another milestone in our state’s development journey.’’
The Prime Minister will visit Assam on September 8 to attend some official programmes.
The Chief Minister also met Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and invited her to visit Assam to lay the foundation stone of the upcoming Kanaklata Barua University in Gohpur.
