Discom launches online facility for load increase

  • Over 680 Domestic Consumers Already Benefiting

Bhopal: Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company has launched an online facility that allows domestic electricity consumers to increase their sanctioned load from the comfort of their homes. This service, available since July 15, is aimed at enhancing convenience, transparency, and efficiency for consumers with requirements of up to 10 kW.

So far, 682 domestic consumers have already used this simplified online system to upgrade their load. The process is designed to be seamless — without any need for human intervention, physical approvals, or visits to electricity offices. No phase change or meter replacement is required for eligible connections, making the upgrade process fast and automatic.

The company clarified that the additional load charges will be automatically added to the next electricity bill, eliminating the need for separate payments. This saves both consumer effort and company resources, while ensuring accurate billing.

Abhishek Martand, General Manager (Information Technology), stated that this facility is not applicable where a load increase would require a phase upgrade or meter change. Consumers falling under such categories will need to follow a separate procedure.

Importantly, the company emphasized that many consumers currently use more power than their sanctioned load, leading to strain on the electricity infrastructure and avoidable power cuts. By encouraging voluntary load regularization, the company aims to build an appropriate and stable power supply system.

Consumers are urged to visit the company portal at https://saralsanyojan.mpcz.in:8888/apply/other/services to avail of this service. No immediate fee is required for the application.
