Côte d’Ivoire, July 28 (UNI) At least 16 people were killed and 51 were injured in a collision between a dump truck and a bus in Ivory Coast, the country’s transport ministry said.
“The accident involved a public transport bus and a dump truck with a crane on board. According to preliminary estimates, 16 people were killed and 51 were injured,” the ministry said on social media.
According to the transport ministry, the bus was traveling between the city of San Pedro in Ivory Coast and the capital of Burkina Faso, Ouagadougou.
The accident occurred on the highway between the cities of Katiola and Niakara in northern Ivory Coast, the ministry clarified.
The victims were evacuated to the regional medical center in Katiola, the authorities have ordered an investigation into the incident, the ministry added.
