Bhopal: Exciting news for rail travelers! A major convenience is on the horizon for those commuting between Bhopal and Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Plans are rapidly progressing to launch a Vande Bharat Express train service between these two capital cities starting this October.
Initially, a seating-only Vande Bharat Express will be introduced, offering both Chair Car and Executive Class facilities. This will significantly ease travel between the capitals of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, providing passengers with reduced travel times and an enhanced journey experience. Currently, direct train services on this route are limited and often fully booked, particularly in sleeper and AC classes. The introduction of this modern semi-high-speed train will bring much-needed relief to thousands of commuters.
According to Naval Agrawal, PRO of Bhopal Rail Division, while an official launch date hasn’t been announced, the Bhopal-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express is expected to begin operations in October. The train’s rake is slated to arrive in Bhopal in early September, followed by a 10 to 15-day trial run. Regular services will commence upon successful trials and approval from the Railway Board. The anticipated route is expected to include key stations like Vidisha, Bina, Jhansi, and Kanpur Central.
