Bhopal: In a shocking incident near Gaman India Mall in Bhopal, a 22-year-old mechanic named Aman was brutally attacked late Tuesday night by a group of miscreants for allegedly refusing to pay extortion money. The attack occurred around 2:30 a.m. when Aman, a resident of Shiv Nagar Colony in TT Nagar, was sitting at a tea stall. Suddenly, an Innova car stopped nearby, and around half a dozen armed men, including known local miscreants Narendra Raikwar and Nilesh Rajak, emerged and assaulted him with knives and swords.
The attackers inflicted deep injuries on Aman’s shoulder, thigh, and right hand, leaving three fingers severely cut. He was rushed to Hamidia Hospital, where doctors described his condition as critical. An operation on his hand is scheduled for Wednesday.
Accused had been harassing Aman for several months
According to Aman’s brother Faijan, the accused had been harassing Aman for several months, demanding a fixed monthly amount and threatening to shut down his TT Nagar mechanic shop if he failed to comply. Despite giving in to the threats several times, Aman had submitted a written complaint to the police three months ago. However, no FIR was filed at that time.
DCP Shashank confirmed that a case of attempted murder has now been registered, and search teams have been deployed to nab the absconding accused. He also stated that the old complaint is being reviewed.
The video of severely injured Aman after the attack has also surfaced online, intensifying public outrage over the unchecked extortion and delay in police action.
