Cong leader demands immediate road work in Kolar

  • Warns of protest

Bhopal: Congress leader Rahul Singh Rathore has submitted a memorandum to KPS Rana, Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department (PWD), and Sanjay Maske, Chief Engineer of Bhopal, demanding immediate commencement of road construction from Mandakini Square to Danish Kunj Square in Kolar. Rathore has warned that if work does not begin within seven days, the Congress will launch a protest against the Chief Engineer and the concerned department.

He alleged that despite the tender being issued three months ago for the 80-feet wide road via JK Hospital in Ward 82, construction has not yet started. With the onset of monsoon, potholes have developed along the route, making travel difficult and dangerous for the public. He accused the officials of deliberately delaying the work to benefit the contractor.

Rathore emphasized that this stretch is one of the most crucial roads in the Kolar region and must be constructed without further delay. He demanded that the work begin immediately and be completed at the earliest to ease public hardship.

He reiterated that if the Capital Project Division No. 1 of PWD fails to begin construction within a week, the Congress will take to the streets in protest against both the department and those allegedly working in favor of the contractor.
