Five arrested in Manipur for insurgent activities, vehicle thefts

Imphal, July 6 (UNI) In a series of operations aimed at curbing criminal activities, Manipur Police and security forces have arrested five persons across different districts, an officer said today.

Three individuals allegedly involved in vehicle theft were apprehended from Waheng Leikai under the City Police Station, Imphal West district yesterday.

The arrested persons have been identified as Sayed Farish, Md. Sahidur Rahaman and Chesam Musaraf..

Efforts are on to recover the stolen vehicles linked to the trio.

Meanwhile, an active cadre of the proscribed outfit PREPAK (PRO) was arrested yesterday by security forces from the Nagamapal area under Imphal Police Station.

Another active woman cadre of PREPAK (PRO), was arrested from the same locality under Heirok Police Station, Thoubal district. A mobile phone and SIM card were seized from her.
