Bhopal: A heart-wrenching accident claimed the life of an 18-month-old boy in the Chhola Mandir police station area of Bhopal on Monday evening. The child, identified as Hanif Khan, fell from an open section of the rooftop railing while playing and succumbed to his injuries.
According to Chhola Mandir police station in-charge Suresh Chandra Nagar, the incident occurred around 7 PM. Hanif was playing on the terrace of his two-storey house with his three-year-old sister. His family members were nearby when he accidentally slipped through an unfinished portion of the railing and fell into the courtyard below.
The injured child was immediately rushed to the hospital by his family, but doctors declared him dead on arrival. The sudden death caused chaos and deep grief among the family members.
Police have initiated legal procedures and sent the body for post-mortem. Preliminary investigation has confirmed that the railing on the rooftop was incomplete, leading to the fatal fall. Authorities are now looking into the matter further to determine any possible negligence.
