The incident, which occurred in the Hanumanganj police station area, saw 10 armed assailants attack and kill Yuvraj Verma after the dispute. His family is reeling from the loss and expressing intense anger.

During their visit, Digvijaya Singh raised concerns about the growing trend of carrying weapons during processions. “It has become a common practice nowadays to carry weapons in processions,” he stated. He announced plans to lodge a formal complaint with the DGP and Chief Secretary, providing evidence related to the case.

Police deny connection to procession

However, ACP Rakesh Singh Baghel has countered Singh’s allegations of police inaction. Baghel stated that he immediately transported the victim to the hospital after the attack, where he succumbed to his injuries. He denied any direct connection between the murder and the religious procession, asserting that the attack occurred after the victim, who had come from Lalitpur to visit his aunt, had already returned from the procession.

Currently, three suspects have been arrested in connection with Yuvraj Verma’s murder. The investigation is ongoing.
