- City Qazi urges cleanliness
- Namaz will be offered at 6:30 am for the first time in Bhopal
Bhopal. Eid al-Adha will be celebrated today, with prayers commencing at 6:30 AM at the Eidgah in Bhopal, as announced by City Qazi Syed Mushtaq Ali Nadwi. Following this, prayers will be offered in historical mosques at 15-minute intervals.
City Qazi Syed Mushtaq Ali Nadwi emphasized that while sacrifice (Qurbani) is a fundamental tenet of Islam, maintaining cleanliness is equally crucial to avoid offending anyone’s sentiments. He explained that Qurbani is a divine command, rooted in thousands of years of history, marking the very genesis of Islam. The Qazi clarified that those who believe Islam began 1400 years ago should understand that Qurbani originated in the time of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him). When Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was asked about Qurbani, he stated it was the tradition of their ancestor, Prophet Ibrahim. Prophet Muhammad himself is a descendant of Prophet Ibrahim, and Islam was named during Prophet Ibrahim’s era, which also saw the construction of the Kaaba, a long and rich history.
The City Qazi added that even if an individual isn’t financially obligated, performing Qurbani will be considered a voluntary act (nafil) and can avert future troubles, as charity repels all misfortunes. He urged that no Eid prayers be offered anywhere before the Eidgah prayers and encouraged a large turnout at the Eidgah.

Clean-up initiative: Corporation to Collect Sacrificial Remains
The Municipal Corporation will undertake a major clean-up operation to collect sacrificial remains. These will be transported to the rendering plant at Adampur landfill, where they will be processed into feed for poultry and other animals. This marks the first time such a comprehensive initiative will be implemented, ensuring all waste is utilized for this purpose.
The Municipal Corporation has formed 21 zonal teams and assigned Assistant Health Officers the responsibility of deploying vehicles across all 85 wards to collect the remains. Their mobile numbers have also been released for public convenience. On Thursday, Mayor Malti Rai held a meeting specifically to discuss Eid and sanitation efforts.
The rendering plant processes animal carcasses and meat waste, including hides, fat, and bones. The material is first cut into small pieces and then cooked at high temperatures to produce animal feed.
