Los Angeles, Apr 17 (UNI) Reality star Kim Kardashian is set to testify in person in a case of armed robbery in Paris in 2016, where she claimed that a group of armed attackers tied her up, locked her in a bathroom and stole jewels worth millions.
While she did not comment on the upcoming proceedings, her lawyer Michael Rodes confirmed that the reality TV star will be taking to the witness stand.
“We can confirm that Ms. Kardashian will be testifying in person at the upcoming French criminal trial involving the 2016 incident in which she was bound and robbed at gunpoint by a number of masked assailants,” the attorney said, according to USA Today.
Ten suspects accused of armed robbery, kidnapping or other criminal charges are going on trial in Paris from April 28 through May 23. The October 2016 robbery took place in a Paris apartment where Kardashian was staying for the Paris Fashion Week.
“At this time, Ms. Kardashian is preserving her testimony for the Court and jury and does not wish to elaborate further on it at this stage.”
According to her lawyer, the TV star and entrepreneur has ″tremendous appreciation and admiration for the French judicial system″ and ″wishes for the trial to proceed in an orderly fashion in accordance with French law and with respect for all parties to the case.”
The incident was later chronicled on her TV series ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’, where she expressed her trauma over the heist as robbers stole millions of dollars’ worth jewellery, including a multi-carat diamond engagement ring from then-husband Kanye West.
