Conducted search at 5 am; officers came in about 60 cars
Sehore/Budni: On Tuesday, the Income Tax team raided the biggest company Trident Group located in Budni area of the district. The IT team reached Trident Company at 5 am early in the morning. The Income Tax Department had reached here in a convoy of about 60 vehicles. It is being told that raids have been conducted simultaneously on about 35 institutions of Trident Group across the country.
It is being told that apart from Budhni of Trident Group, the Income Tax Department team has taken action simultaneously in Delhi, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Sirsa Haryana and Barnala Punjab. Electronics equipment and documents have been seized during the search operation.
Arrived in private vehicles to raid
According to the information, the campus of Trident Company in Budhni is spread over 800 acres. Income Tax Department officials arrived here in more than 60 vehicles on Tuesday morning. Most of the vehicles are private. Like many previous operations, this time also the Income Tax Department officers, instead of taking the help of the local police, carried out the operation with about 100 Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel. Officials also raided Trident’s Narmada Inn Hotel.
Goods are exported abroad
Rajendra Gupta is the owner of Trident Group of Companies, which started in the 1990s. He has factories across the country, in which along with paper manufacturing, bedsheets, towels, chemicals, electrical goods, domestic and global furniture, yarn are made. 75 percent of the products manufactured in the company are supplied abroad.
