Mumbai, (UNI) About 9,70,25,119 voters in 288 constituencies of Maharashtra will exercise their right to vote in the Assembly election due on November 20, said the State chief election commissioner’s office on Monday.
In a statement, of total 9,70,25,119 registered voters in the state, 5,22,739 are males, 4,69,96,279 females and 6,101 third genders.
It stated that the Pune district is leading in the number of voters.
The total number of voters in Pune is 88,49,590 while Mumbai suburbs have 76,86,098 voters.
There are 72,27,339 voters in Thane, 50,61,185 in Nashik district and 45,25,997 in Nagpur, they stated.
In five districts namely Ratnagiri, Nandurbar, Gondia, Bhandara and Sindhudurg, the number of female voters is more than male voters.
The total number of voters in Ratnagiri is 13,39,697, of which 6,46,176 are male voters, 6,93,510 females and 11 third genders.
Total voters in Nandurbar are 13,21,642, of which 6,54,412 are male voters, 6,67,217 females and 13 third genders.
The total number of voters in Gondia district is 11,25,100, of which 5,53,685 are male voters, 5,71,405d females and 10 third genders.
Total voters in Bhandara are 10,16,870, of which 5 ,06,974 are male voters, 5,09,892 females and four third genders.
Total voters in Sindhudurg are 6,78,928, of which 3,36,991 are male voters, 3,41,934 females and three third genders.
Five districts namely Ahmednagar, Solapur, Jalgaon, Kolhapur and Aurangabad have more than 30 lakh voters.
Buldhana, Amravati, Yavatmal, Nanded, Raigad, Mumbai City, Beed, Satara, Sangli and Palghar have more than 20 lakh voters, the statement added.
