70 Muslims convert to Hinduism in Ratlam

Ratlam: In a significant event on Guru Purnima, 70 individuals from the Muslim community in Ratlam have embraced Hinduism. The “ghar wapsi” (homecoming) ceremony, led by Swami Anandgiri Maharaj, took place at the Hanuman Temple in Sailana.

After prayers and rituals under the guidance of Swami Anandgiri Maharaj, the individuals formally adopted Sanatan Dharma. Among them, Mohsin was given the new name Karan Singh. Swami Anandgiri Maharaj described this as an ongoing process of returning to their original faith.

These converts, primarily from the ‘Shah’ family, hail from Dewas, Kota-Bundi, and Ratlam. Their traditional livelihood involves collecting herbs in forests and selling beads, conches, and rings. Karan Singh (formerly Mohsin) stated that he was inspired by Maharaj’s discourses and chose to return to Sanatan Dharma on Guru Purnima.

Swami Anandgiri Maharaj indicated that while 70 individuals converted this time, the number could reach 700 in the future. He emphasized his commitment to promoting Sanatan Dharma and welcoming anyone who wishes to embrace it voluntarily, stating that the conversions are a continuous process driven by personal choice.
