- Minister Vijayvargiya gives instructions to immediately stop illegal colonies

Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, in a meeting of departmental officers in the ministry on Tuesday, has given instructions to immediately stop illegal colonies in the state and take strict action against the culprits. He also reviewed the departmental budget for the financial year 2024-25 in the meeting. It was told in the meeting that 135 FIRs have been registered in connection with illegal colonies in the Municipal Corporation area. 470 FIRs have been registered in connection with illegal colonies in the Municipal Corporation and Municipal Council area. In this way a total of 605 FIRs have been registered. Urban Development Minister Vijayvargiya also asked the departmental officers to make provisions for strict punishment and financial penalty against the colonizers, agents and regional officers involved in the construction of illegal colonies. In the meeting, the proposed penalty for unauthorized colony construction was also discussed in detail. Self-reliant bodies were also discussed: In the meeting, it was said that the instructions given in the meeting of 16 municipal corporations held on July 19, have been implemented. Solar energy projects are being sought from the bodies to save electricity expenditure. Proposals are also being prepared to install solar panels in all government buildings under the Prime Minister Surya Lakshmi Yojana.
In the meeting, it was told that this year the budget of the department is Rs 16,681 crore. The progress of the late Sunderlal Patwa National Management Institute being built at a cost of 45 crores in Bhouri, Bhopal was reviewed. Minister Vijayvargiya said that for the quality of this institute, the central government should be requested to take the services of experts from the urban area. The institute needs to be recognized as the best institute in Hindi speaking areas. In the meeting, there was a discussion on making the public transport service in urban areas even better. The minister said that public transport in urban areas should be operated at least on a no profit-no loss mode.
