Bhopal: Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development Minister Shri Edal Singh Kanshana announced that the Government of India’s organic farming portal has successfully connected six lakh farmers, aimed at providing a market for their organic products. The ECOVA organization has facilitated training and product certification for approximately 300,000 farmers over the past 21 years. Minister Kanshana addressed farmers from Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka during a program at Sayaji Hotel in Bhopal.
He highlighted that this initiative falls under the Traditional Agriculture Development Scheme, which promotes natural and organic farming nationwide. Currently, around 2.5 million farmers benefit from this scheme across 1.5 million hectares. In Madhya Pradesh alone, about 7.5 lakh farmers are engaged in organic farming under Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav’s leadership. Kanshana emphasized the importance of direct communication between farmers and sellers, benefiting farmers across the country and encouraging the adoption of organic practices for better market access and fair pricing.
