5 die in Kanchanjunga Exp, goods train collision in NBengal

Kolkata, June 17 (UNI) At least five people were killed, and some 35 others injured when a goods train hit the Sealdah-bound Kanchenjunga Express near Rangapani in northern West Bengal district of Jalpaiguri on Monday, a senior official confirmed.

He said that around 8.30 am, the goods train hit the stationed Kanchanjunga Exp from the rear end. Two wagons of the goods train then jumped over the express that was coming down from Agartala. The list of wounded may rise.

Among those killed was the pilot of the goods train.
