Singapore/ New Delhi, Sept 19 (UNI) The highly anticipated 4th Northeast India Festival (NEIF) 2025 will open today at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre, Halls 404-405, in Singapore.
The major event is set to bring Northeast India’s vibrant culture, trade, and tourism to the heart of Southeast Asia.
Timed with the 60th anniversary of India-Singapore diplomatic ties and the India-ASEAN Year of Tourism, the two-day festival aims to strengthen regional partnerships in trade, tourism, investment, and cultural exchange.
Open to public, the festival features a trade and tourism exhibition, B2B meetings, and high-level policy interactions with Singaporean industrialists to attract investment into sectors like agriculture, textiles, hospitality, and creative industries.
A highlight is the grand cultural showcase, including folk dances such as Bihu, Sattriya, and Nagaland’s War Dance, along with fashion shows by leading Northeast designers and performances by contemporary musicians and Bollywood artists.
Building on past editions in Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City, the 2025 festival positions Northeast India as a vital link in India’s Act East Policy, promoting cross-border collaboration and placing the region on the global map for culture and commerce.
September 21 will mark the final day of the festival, and attendees can expect another exciting lineup of performances. The day will feature traditional dances, contemporary music performances, and more designer showcases.
Highlights will include performances by well-known rap artists from Tripura and contemporary musicians from Meghalaya, as well as fashion shows from designers based in Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya.
These performances will showcase the dynamic cultural scene in Northeast India, demonstrating its evolving fusion of traditional art forms with modern music and fashion trends.
