31.38 pc polling in first four hours during second phase of Bihar assembly elections

Patna, Nov 11 (UNI) An estimated 31.38 percent electorate exercised their franchise during first four hours in second and final phase of Bihar assembly elections where polling was in progress amid tight security arrangements.
According to office of Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), an estimated 31.38 percent electorate exercised their franchise in first four hours of the polling. Highest polling percentage was recorded in Kishanganj district where 34.74 percent electorate exercised their franchise while Madhubani witnessed lowest polling percentage of 28.66
West Champaran recorded 32.39 percent polling, East Champaran 31.16 Sheohar 31.58 Sitamarhi 29.81 Supaul 31.69 Araria 31.88, Purnia 32.94, Katihar 30.83 , Bhagalpur 29.08, Banka 32.91, Kaimur 31.98, , Rohtas 29.80, Arwal 31.07, Jahanabad 30.36, Aurangabad 32.88, Gaya 34.07, Nawada 29.02 and Jamui 31.69 percent.
” No report of untoward incident has been received from any assembly seat where polling is in progress “, CEO Vinod Singh Gunjiyal informed. BJP MP Dr Sanjay Jaiswal along with his all family members cast his vote at booth number 73 in Bettiah. After casting vote, Jaiswal said it was time to vote for development and good governance.
” I had dream since my early years that Bihar could develop in all sectors including infrastructural facilities and under the regime of NDA government, all these things are becoming realities “, Jaiswal noted. He also came down heavily on RJD for its leaders and workers glorifying don Mohammad Shahabuddin who was synonymous with lawlessness during ” Jungle Raj ” in Bihar when RJD was in power. Bihar Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Minister Renu Kumari also exercised her franchise in Bettiah.
Snag in EVMs was reported from booth number 89 in Purnea and booth number 329 in Kishanganj where polling disrupted but it resumed soon as snag was rectified by technical personnel specially deployed by Election Commission for the purpose.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has appealed to voters to exercise their franchise during second and final phase of assembly elections in the state. It was not only rights but also responsibility of people to cast their votes, he noted in a post on his social media account X.
Polling for first phase of Bihar assembly elections was held in 121 seats in November 06. Counting of votes would be taken up on November 14.
