27 years of ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’: Karan Johar shares heartwarming throwback moments from the iconic set

New Delhi, Oct 16 (UNI) It’s been 27 years since Rahul, Anjali, and Tina made us fall in love with friendship, heartbreak, and second chances. Time may have passed, but for countless Bollywood fans, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai still feels timeless.

To mark the film’s 27th anniversary, Karan Johar, who made his directorial debut with the 1998 blockbuster, took to Instagram today to share a series of unseen, nostalgic photos from the film’s set. The post instantly transported fans back to the era that defined ’90s Bollywood romance.

The pictures featured Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Rani Mukerji, Farah Khan, Anupam Kher, and Archana Puran Singh, all captured in candid, joyful moments. Adding to the emotion, Karan used the evergreen track “Tum Paas Aaye” as the background music, perfectly complementing the nostalgia.

Along with the photos, Karan wrote, “27 years!!! Some beautiful and candid memories from our set of #KuchKuchHotaHai… a set filled with love, too much banter, and happiness. Thank you to everyone for the love you continue to give this film; it means everything to me! @dharmamovies.”

Fans quickly filled the comments section with heartfelt messages and fond memories. “A movie etched in our hearts since childhood — truly unforgettable!” wrote one user. Another commented, “A masterpiece, way ahead of its time.”

For those who grew up in the ’90s, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai wasn’t just a film, it was an emotion. Even after nearly three decades, it continues to tug at hearts with its timeless story, music, and dialogues like “Pyaar dosti hai” and “Kuch kuch hota hai Rahul, tum nahi samjhoge,” which have become part of pop culture history.

Released in 1998, the film starred Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and Rani Mukerji, with a special cameo by Salman Khan and memorable performances by Archana Puran Singh, Anupam Kher, and Johnny Lever.
