Nashik, Sep 28 (UNI) Due to heavy rains in the district today, several citizens were stranded at different places. However, with the help of the local administration, disaster management teams, and Aapda Mitra, all 25 stranded citizens were successfully rescued.
Thirteen people stranded in fields in Andarsul and Kolgaon in Yeola taluka were rescued safely after local teams immediately reached the spot.
Two elderly citizens stranded in Bharam village in the same taluka were also rescued with the joint efforts of the Aapda Mitra team from Malegaon and the local administration.
Two cows trapped in the Godavari riverbed in Lakhalgaon in Nashik taluka were also rescued safely by the local team.
Six citizens trapped in water in Davleshwar in Trimbakeshwar taluka were rescued, with local teams carrying out commendable work.
Meanwhile, after receiving information that a family of six was stranded in Kopargaon (Ahilyanagar district) outside Nashik, a team of three fire brigade personnel and four disaster relief workers from Nashik Municipal Corporation was immediately dispatched.
All rescue operations were carried out promptly and successfully.
The administration has appealed to citizens to remain alert and avoid unnecessary travel, the Collectorate stated.
