New Delhi, Oct 27 (UNI) Home Minister Amit Shah today expressed happiness over surrender of 21 Maoists, including senior cadres, along with their arms in Kanker district, Chhattisgarh.
In a post on X, Shah reaffirmed the government’s commitment to eradicating Naxalism by 31st March 2026 and commended the surrendering Maoists for “joining the mainstream” and renouncing violence at the call of the Modi government.
“Glad to share that 21 Maoists have surrendered along with their arms in Kanker district, Chhattisgarh. Out of them, 13 were senior cadres,” the Home Minister said.
He further said, “I commend them for joining the mainstream, abjuring violence at the call of the Modi government. I reiterate my appeal to the rest who are still wielding guns to surrender at the earliest”.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to eliminating Left-Wing Extremism, the Home Minister said, “We are resolved to eradicate Naxalism by 31st March 2026.”
As many as 21 Naxalites surrendered alongwith their arms in the Kanker district of Chhattisgarh yesterday.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister, Vishnu Deo Sai in a post on X expressed happiness, stating that the “Maoists are laying down their arms influenced by the ongoing “Surrender and Rehabilitation Policy – 2025” and the “Niyad Nella Naar Scheme.”
He said, “The youth who were misled by the false ideology of Maoism are now beginning to realize that the path of development, not violence, is the true choice for the future. We remain fully committed to the rehabilitation and reintegration of these surrendered Naxalites.”
“The backbone of Naxalism in the Bastar region has been broken, and Bastar is rapidly moving toward peace and development. Our double-engine government is resolute in making the country Naxal-free by March 31, 2026,” the CM said.
