- Online drug ring smashed
Bhopal – In a dramatic sting operation, the Bhopal Crime Branch, in collaboration with the Narcotics Control Bureau, outsmarted a young drug peddler who thought he was dealing with a simple postman. Karan Sharma, a 19-year-old student, was importing LSD from Kerala via an online website and selling it on Telegram. This time, however, his parcel had a watchful eye on it: the police.
Undercover officers, posing as postmen, delivered the package. The moment Karan signed for it, he was swiftly apprehended. During interrogation, Karan confessed that he had learned how to order drugs online from YouTube and had successfully done so twice before. Authorities seized 1.96 grams of LSD, a substance considered one of the world’s most dangerous psychedelic drugs, known for blurring the lines between thought, consciousness, and reality.
A case has been registered under the NDPS Act, and the accused is being prepared for incarceration. The operation, which involved Crime Branch officers from Kaleemuddin to Pooja Yadav playing various roles, unfolded like a thrilling spy movie, showcasing their dedication and strategic brilliance.
