- First Hajj flight arrives in Bhopal
- Pilgrims return transformed
Bhopal – A wave of spiritual rejuvenation swept through Bhopal today as the first flight carrying 160 Hajj pilgrims safely landed at the city’s airport. These devout individuals have returned from their sacred journey to Mecca and Medina, a pilgrimage that, according to Islamic belief, purifies a person as if they were born anew, absolving past sins.
The Saudi Airways flight touched down at 6:00 AM, bringing back 87 men and 63 women. This initial group included 154 pilgrims from Bhopal, two from Narmadapuram, two from Raisen, and two from Satna. Notably, 18-year-old Moosa was the youngest pilgrim from Bhopal on this flight. After an emotional reunion, the pilgrims departed for their homes. Another flight carrying more pilgrims from Bhopal and other districts is expected to arrive early morning today.
A call for renewed devotion and community care
The returning pilgrims were warmly welcomed by Rafat Warsi, Chairman of the Madhya Pradesh Hajj Committee, and City Qazi Syed Mushtaq Ali Nadwi Sahab. The City Qazi extended his greetings and led a special prayer, offering guidance to the pilgrims. He reminded them of their newfound purity, urging them to embrace their fresh responsibility to live strictly according to the teachings of Islam and the Prophet Muhammad. He emphasized avoiding ostentation and expressing gratitude to Allah for the immense privilege of performing Hajj.
Furthermore, the City Qazi stressed the importance of fulfilling their duties not only to Allah but also to fellow human beings and relatives. He also offered heartfelt prayers for those injured and affected by the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad, wishing for their swift recovery and solace for the bereaved families.
