150 delegates to take part in two-day national Mouth Organ Players Meet at Jammu from Sep 21

Jammu, (UNI) As many as 150 delegates from all over the country are set to put stage on fire at the first even national Mouth Organ Players Meet being hosted by the Jammu Harmonica Club here Om September 21-22.

“The Jammu Harmonica Club is hosting the 11th edition of national level Indian Mouth Organ Players’ Meet here on September 21–22,” Rajneesh Sharma, founder member of Jammu Harmonica Club, which was established in 2015 here told reporters on Tuesday at a press conference.

He was flanked by another founder member Jagjit Singh Ishar.

“This year, 11th National Level IMP Meet is being hosted at Jammu wherein around 150 delegates including local guests are participating in this two days national event which will be held at Hotel Radisson Blu, Jammu,” he said.

Sharma added that the meet will be attended by harmonica players from children to veterans from all walks of life including students, businessmen, doctors, engineers, chartered accountants, corporates, artists, government employees, retired personnel etc besides children and women.

The genres of music played by the members include, Bollywood, Hindustani Classical, Carnatic Music, Folk, Religious songs, Western music, and musical scores played in various regional film industries in India.

Earlier, similar IMP Meets were held at Kolkata, Delhi, Haridwar, Indore, Mumbai, Jaipur, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Puri, and Bengaluru, he said adding that the purpose of this meet is to promote awareness about harmonica as a complete musical instrument capable of playing any score on it, to share knowledge about music along with various techniques and skills for playing harmonica, to encourage various harmonica players to perform on stage and build their confidence, to help in promoting good health through harmonica.

“Not only music, but also harmonica offers tangible health benefits in the form of serious lung exercises.

To promote harmony and brotherhood amongst the harmonica players and music lovers from different walks of life and different corners of the country,” he stated.
