14 lakh houses to be allotted in Bihar in 8 months: Chauhan

Patna, Apr 12 (UNI) Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that 7 lakh 90 thousand houses were given to eligible beneficiaries of Bihar last year under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

Chauhan, who was on a day-long visit to Patna on Saturday, reviewed the central schemes for Rural Development in Bihar.

Later, he told news persons here that 5 lakh 20 thousand more houses will be given to those living in kucha houses to build permanent houses. He said that in total Bihar would be getting 14 lakh houses in 7 to 8 months. He said the installment amount of the newly approved 5 lakh 20 thousand houses will be deposited in the accounts of the beneficiaries through a single click.

He said that Rural Development schemes were being effectively implemented in the state.

The minister said that 3 lakh Lakhpati Didi have been made here, and a target to make 20 lakh Lakhpati Didi has been fixed for the current year.
