Bhopal, The School Education Department of Madhya Pradesh is running 139 model schools across the state with the aim of providing high-quality secondary and higher secondary education in government schools.
Currently, these model schools are operational in 43 district headquarters and 96 development blocks. At the district level, nearly 49,500 students are enrolled, while 66,250 students are studying in the block-level schools.
This initiative began in the 2017-18 academic year. In addition to the schools, 100-seater boys’ and girls’ hostels have been approved in 41 district-level model schools. Presently, around 5,800 students are benefiting from the hostel facilities.
The establishment of these model schools has shown promising results, significantly enhancing the quality of education for students across the state. This initiative is a key step in strengthening the education system and providing more opportunities for students in rural and semi-urban areas.
