139 buses of BCLL turning into scrap in depot

  • Auto parts of 70 city buses are going missing
  • Lakhs of passengers facing inconvenience

Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal
The wheels of 139 buses of Bhopal City Link Limited (BCLL) in the capital have stopped for the last two and a half months (4 July). These buses are standing in the depot waiting for when they will be run. These buses run on 6 routes.

However, BCLL is fully engaged in efforts to run these buses as soon as possible. Because, due to non-operation of these buses, lakhs of passengers are facing inconvenience. Let us tell you, even from 14 June, the buses remained closed due to the bus operator not depositing the PF and ESIC money in the accounts of drivers and conductors. After that, the buses remained closed due to the demand started by the Chalo App company for increasing the rate. However, BCLL has stopped the operation of ticket collection work with the company and issued new tenders. Under the new tender, a new company was searched. Which will do the work of ticket collection of buses. From last year to June 2024, tenders were given to two different companies under Gross Cost Contact. In this, Chalo App got the tender for ticket collection and the responsibility of running the buses was given to Maa Associates. This year, due to the demand of Chalo App, BCLL stopped the buses and ended the deal with Chalo App.

According to information from sources, out of 139 buses, auto parts of 70 buses have started disappearing. Due to which these buses are becoming scrap. For the last two and a half months, about 50 thousand people in the city are facing a lot of trouble commuting to their destination, but even after this, no public representative and officer is paying attention to this. Meanwhile, on July 9, Mayor Malti Rai also held a meeting on this matter with the officers and the responsible persons of the Chalo App company which collects the ticket, but no solution has been found till now.
