Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, As the number of suspected patients of Zika Virus increased, the examination kit is finished in AIIMS Bhopal. Due to the end of this kit, the investigation was not done for nearly three days. In such, the samples of 50 patients were gathered in AIIMS.
The samples were examined together on Wednesday after the arrival of the kit. Out of those, 40 patients have detected positive. However, the officers of the Health Department are not ready to say anything in this regard.
On Thursday, samples of more than a dozen patients from Bhopal were sent for examination, pregnant women samples are also included in that.
Separate survey of pregnant women will be done
Zika Virus is more prone to pregnant women. Being affected by the virus, the head of the baby in the womb becomes small and may cause other brain diseases also. For this reason pregnant women are being surveyed separately. So far about 100 pregnant women have been surveyed. Out of that only 2 are suffering from fever.
Leave can be granted with the permission of Medical Board
The District Administration has canceled the leave of all employees due to the Code of Conduct. District administration officials say that in case of sickness, no one can be stopped from taking leave, but the report of medical board is necessary.
Specialists said-no need to be afraid
Dr. P. Ravindran, Director of the Emergency Medical Response Team of the Union Health Ministry, said that there is no need to fear from Zika fever. This is a common disease. If we get treatment on time, it is easily cured.
Around 15-20 patients of dengue, Chikungunya are being diagnosed daily. Despite this, there is no epidemiologist in the Bhopal district, these days. According to officials, epidemiologist of the district, Dr. Rashmi Jain is self ill. Because of this, she is not coming to office for a week. Her work has not been assigned to anyone else yet, which is affecting the treatments of patients.
It is significant that the job of the epidemiologist is to visit epidemic affected areas and to provide technical support in preventive measures. In this regard, CMHO, Dr Sudhir Jesani said that the epidemiologist Dr. Rashmi Jain has given an oral notice of the disease. How can one work suffering illness.
