Youth parliament held at DPS

On the eve of Republic Day a “Youth Parliament” was organized by DPS Bhopal on January, 23, 2014, under the aegis of Pt. Kunjilal Dubey Rashtriya Sansadiya Vidyapeeth. The purpose behind the youth parliament was to make the students aware of the parliamentary proceedings, its composition, powers and functions and foster in them the essential leadership qualities.

The event was graced by . Brijrajeshwar Sharma,Deputy-Director, Pt. Kunjilal Dubey Rashtriya Sansadiya Vidyapeeth, . Mahendra Sonune, Under Secretary & Deputy Director,  Anil Vaidya, Deputy Director,  Lok Shikshan Sanchalanalay, Smt. Saroj Dubey, Programme-In-Charge Pt. Kunjilal Dubey Rashtriya Sansadiya Vidyapeeth. Mr. Ajay K. Sharma, Principal, DPS Bhopal in his welcome address stressed upon the global challenges, the need for the young leadership for the nation and youth parliament as an innovative way to empower them with the know how of the functioning of the parliament.
The event wonderfully depicted what should a good citizen do and what must he imbibe to do it, youth brigade of today has to be trained, so that they can provide young and dynamic leadership to the country. The students from classes IX & X, attired as ministers and leaders, showcased the parliamentary proceedings like oath ceremony, introduction of foreign delegates, presentation of bill, walk out and other formal and regular procedures of parliament. This event not only imparted real citizenship education and developed competencies in students but also helped them develop attitudes which are essential for democracy.

The dignitaries, congratulated the students for their sincere effort and gave valuable guidance for the conduction of the event. The formal vote of thanks was proposed by Pankhuri Garg of Class-IX.
