Will Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone replace Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor in Shuddhi?

10Ranbir-deepika-Hrithik-KareenaNot so long time ago, Kareena Kapoor Khan was losing patience due to Karan Johar’s much delayed Shuddhi. Finally, the Koffee with Karan host announced that he is looking for a new female lead as he doesn’t want to keep Bebo waiting. Shuddhi got delayed ‘coz of Hrithik’s health issues. Now we hear that Hrithik too has backed out of the project! His press statement said, “Karan Malhotra and I have decided to unite in the most ambitious way post Shuddhi. For now, I cannot allow a vision like Shuddhi to stagnate any further. I had the finest experience an actor can have working with Karan in Agneepath and I’m sure both my dear Karans (Malhotra and Johar) are going to go beyond with this one! Shuddhi remains a part of me in spirit and I am sure it will be a landmark in our cinema. I wish them all the best!”
If things would have fallen in place, Shuddhi would have reunited alleged ex-lovers Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor on the big screen after almost a decade. Anyways, now we hear that Ranbir Kapoor may step into Hrithik’s shoes for Shuddhi. And that’s not all! Reportedly, the filmmakers have approached his ex-flame Deepika Padukone to play the female lead. That’s interesting, no? If everything works out for the filmmakers this time, Shuddhi will still be a film reuniting ex-lovers (on the big screen), but not after a decade.
