Aiming to make Nagpur ‘number one city’ in the country, Union Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari put majority of the city’s stalled projects on a roll by clearing the stumbling blocks.
Apparently committed towards the development of his constituency, Mr Gadkari during his two-day visit to Nagpur reviewed the projects of several departments and instructed the concerned authorities to cooperate in the transformation of the state’s second capital into a ‘Model city’.
While reviewing the Nagpur Metro Rail project, Mr Gadkari directed the secretary of department concerned to expedite the project. Work on the Nagpur Metro project is likely to be taken up soon following clearance of the hindrances after gathering dust in the department for the past two years.
He also asked the district collector and Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) officers to interact with local people directly and solve their problems at earliest for taking up the ambitious project Mihan.
Detailed discussions took place during the meeting in connection with Gajraj project’s land, taxi way of Boeing project, zudpi forest and rehabilitation. After the meeting Gadkari said that Mihan is an international level project essential for the economic development of Vidarbha.
