Expressing its resolve to evolve a  consensus on the Kashmir issue, the government today said  it is ready for any dialogue to resolve the issue not only  within the purview of the Constitution but also within the  ambit of humanity.

“We are trying to evolve a consensus on the Kashmir issue. We are ready for any dialogue to resolve the issue not only  within the purview of the Constitution but also within the  purview of humanity,” Home Minister Rajnath Singh said replying to a debate in the Rajya Sabha on the ‘Working  of the Ministry of the Home Affairs’.

In this context, he allayed apprehensions of some members that the government would negotiate with ‘agents’ to resolve the  issue.
“The government will not take the help of ‘agents’ to resolve the issue,” Mr Singh said.

On Pakistan, he said the government was in favour of a lasting solution with Islamabad.

The Minister said the government planned to establish a  National intelligence Grid to deal with insurgency and terrorism.
