HRLN holds workshop on Human Rights protection

Bhopal, July 31:
Under the aegis of Human Rights Law Network (HRLN), Bhopal a workshop on the topic "Role of advocates in the protection of Human Rights" was organised at MLA Rest House Auditorium.
On this occasion Colin Gonsalves, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India and Founder of HRLN was present as a guest. He stressed on the issue of sparking activism amongst those who are willing to work for the cause of human rights and threw lights on various issues as Right to Food, women justice, Globalisation and Land Rights.
Other practicing advocates from Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal were also present as a speaker and discussed problems of Child rights and Dalit rights.
The participants actively participated in the workshop and brought out issues of human rights at local levels and expressed the need to address it at the earliest to insure that the deprived are not left at large. It included lack of organisation of trained legal professional in MP, lack of social activists etc.
Shubhra Pachauri, State coordinator, HRLN moderated the programme that was attended by various Young lawyers, activists, students and grass root workers.
