CM for effective implementation of scheduled castes welfare schemes

Bhopal, July 29:
The Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan asked the departments concerned to ensure that instructions regarding welfare of scheduled castes are implemented effectively at the grassroots level.
Addressing a meeting of State Scheduled Castes Advisory Board at Vidhan Sabha here today, Shri Chouhan said that district level meetings of the scheduled castes advisory board should be convened regularly. The list of districts not holding these meetings should be furnished to the C.M. Secretariat so that responsibility could be fixed for necessary action.
Shri Chouhan said that the state government for the first time has made budget provision on the basis of percentage of population of scheduled castes. He said that 15.25 percent of the total budget has been provided for schedule castes sub plan. He informed that the provision of Rs. 2748.90 crore has been made in the year 2010-11.
Shri Chouhan informed the meeting that Deen Dayal Mobile Hospitals will be providing services in 35 scheduled caste predominant blocks from this year. This will improve access of these areas to medical facilities, he added.

Review Special Recruitment Drive
The Chief Minister asked the officers concerned to continuously monitor the special recruitment drive for filling up backlog posts. The district wise progress should be furnished to the CM Secretariat.
Shri Chouhan said that the Board members would be informed about the current status within a week regarding filling up backlog posts.
Expressing satisfaction over the sentence in cases of atrocities against scheduled castes, he gave instructions to further improve the progress. He said that the suggestions of the Board members regarding this issue would be seriously considered and implemented. He asked the divisional commissioners to pay attention to key issues like registration of vehicles provided to beneficiaries of scheduled castes.
Member of the Board and former Union Minister Shri Satyanarayan Jatia and other Board members gave useful suggestions.
Minister for Scheduled Caste Welfare, and vice chairman of the Board Shri Vijay Shah listed the achievements of the department and informed about the new initiatives.
It was informed that 114 Dr. Ambedkar Community halls out of 189 have been constructed and rest are under construction. Minister of State for Scheduled Castes Shri Harishankar Khatik, Minister of State for Urban Administration Shri Manohar Oontwal and Members Sarvashri Jugal Kishore Bagri, Ram Charit, Kamlesh Jatav, Laljiram Malviya, Rodmal Rathore, engineer Ladduram Kothi, Tarachand Bavaria, Bramhanand Ratnakar, Devendra Verma, Dr. Smt. Vinod Panthi and Smt. Panna Bai Prajapti and senior officers attended the meeting.
