Leading vechicle manufacturing company Mahindra and Mahindra today launched India's first 15 HP tractor 'Yuvraj 215', mainly targetting farmers with small landholdings.
Talking to mediapersons during the launch, company's Senior Vice President Sanjeev Goyle said '' the new tractor ''Yuvraj 215'' is a compact, versatile, fuel efficient and easy to operate 15 HP tractor. It is ideal for a farmer with small landholdings who is primarily dependent on farming with bullocks and who seeks to increase productivity at an affordable cost.'' He said ''we have always pioneered products for increasing farm productivity having realized the low penetration of tractors amongst farmers at the bottom of the pyramid and felt a distinct need to create a product for farmers with small landholdings''.
Mr Goyle said 'Yuvraj 215' has a top speed of 25.6 kmph and haulage capacity of 1.5 tonnes offered an unbeatable value proposition and world class technology will be priced at an on road cost of Rs 1,75,000. The small tractor is most suitable for groundnut and cotton growing farmers of Gujarat considering its low turning radius operations. The 'Yuvraj 215' will be manufactured at a state of the art plant in Rajkot with a production capacity of 16,000 tractors per annum.
''We had entered into a contract manufacturing agreement with Deepak Diesels Pvt Ltd which will exclusively manufacture the Yuvraj 215 in Rajkot adhering to Mahindra and Mahindra's renowned quality standards'', he added.
