United News of India Bhopal, July 27: A local court, hearing a fake passport case in which underworld don Abu Salem stands accused, today ruled that the prosecution will not be provided more opportunities to present witnesses. Research and Analysis Wing officer Rupin Sharma ignored repeated summons by Chief Judicial Magistrate R G Singh. August 4 was set as the date for recording the accused's statement. Salem sported bandages on his face and arm due to the murderous assault perpetrated on him at Mumbai's high-security Arthur Road Jail on Saturday.
Russian girl gets bail in passport misuse case Rupnagar, July 27: (UNI) Rupnagar Additional Sessions Judge Surinder Mohan today granted bail to Russian girl Oliga Timoshik, who was arrested by Rupnagar police in connection with the alleged misuse of passport of German Citizen Thomas Kuhn. The court had reserved its order on the bail application of Timoshik for today after hearing the arguments of Prosecution and defence counsels some days aqo. The court ordered Timoshik, who was under judicial custody, to be released on bail on her furnishing a personal bond of Rs one lakh and a surety in the like amount. The court also ordered that Timoshik would not leave the country without the prior permission of court and she would deposit her passport with the court. The court also ordered that the accsued would not temper with evidence of the case and would cooperate with Investigating Officer (IO). Timoshik was arrested from Jaipur by the Rupnagar Police last month in connection with the misuse of passport of German Citizen Thomas Kuhn,who was arrested from Nangal without passport. The passport was found to have been misused at Indo-Nepal border.
