GRP arrests two train looters, Rs one lakh seized

The Government Railway Police (GRP) have arrested two persons who used to loot train passengers and seized from their possession Rs one lakh cash and two mobile phones. While interrogation they have accepted of committing more than a dozen such loots.
GRP Superintendent Deepak Verma told pressmen that police had taken into custody some persons who used to loot train passengers after giving them drinks mixed with drugs. On interrogation they informed about two others - Ramvali Nishad and Ramvajan Nishad, residents of Uttar Pradesh. A team of policemen was sent to Uttar Pradesh and with the help of UP police arrested both and seized from their possession Rs one lakh cash and two mobile phones.
Modus operandi
Verma said that the looters used to give cold drink and tea mixed with drugs making them unconscious to passengers travelling in sleeper class. When the passengers become unconscious, the looters steal their luggage. This way they had committed looting in Bhusaval, Khandwa, Itarsi, Gadarwara, Allahabad and other places.
Wanted to earn fast buck
Both the accused informed police that they used to sell ice cream in Mumbai and earn around Rs 800 per day. It was hard work and according to them the earnings were not sufficient. They thought this was not enough and decided to adopt the new method to earn fast buck easily.

Four booked in case of dowry murder
Ratibarh Police have booked husband and three others of a woman who had committed suicide by hanging self under dowry murder. All the accused are absconding now. Police said Rajni Vanshkar (25) wife of Raju Vanshkar was living in Village Badgiri. On February 15 last she committed suicide at her room by hanging self. The police had registered a case and were investigating. During investigation police came to know that the woman's husband and members of family used to harass and beat her frequently for dowry. The police had registered statement of her in-laws and her parents. The police came to the conclusion that the woman committed suicide because of dowry harassment. The police registered case of dowry murder against her husband Raju, mother-in law Bindra Bai, brother Rakesh and sister Tulsa Bai.
