Skill improvement possible with use of computer: Jain

Use of computer definitely leads to capacity improvement. Officers and employees should have knowledge of computer for e-governance in Madhya Pradesh. These views were expressed by Secretary Information Technology Anurag Jain while addressing a seminar on the topic 'e-governance and computerisation - achievements and possibilities' at RCVP Noronha Academy of Administration here today.
Secretary Higher Education Ashish Upadhyaya, Director General of the Academy Dr Sandeep Khanna, Director MK Varshney, trainee officers of Revenue, Animal Husbandry and Agriculture departments were also present at the seminar.
Jain informed that cooperation is being received from all quarters for establishment of e-governance in the state. Every department in the state is taking initiative at its own level for ensuring e-governance. First of all, cyber treasury was developed in the state. Farmers are being provided necessary information through Agriculture Net.
Jain shed light on various networks in detail. He said that through SWAN network, villages are being connected with development blocks, tehsils and capital Bhopal. People in the urban areas are provided information through MP Online. So far, 12 departments have been connected to the call centre in Madhya Pradesh whose phone number is 155343 and gradually, all the departments will be connected with it.
Secretary Higher Education Ashish Upadhyaya informed that during the last 20 years ample efforts have been undertaken for computerisation in MP. The work of providing copies of Khasras though computer was started in 1985 in Morena as a pilot project.
Academy director general Dr Sandeep Khanna welcomed the guests. The vote of thanks was proposed by Academy's director MK Varshney.
