Central Bank donates Rs 15-lakh for Ophthalmic hospital

Bhopal, Mar 11:
Central Bank of India donated Rs 15 lakh to Ottapalam Welfare Trust as a part of its corporate social responsibility. The amount would be utilised by the trust for construction of an operation theatre in the Ophthalmic Hospital being constructed at Ottapalam, Palakkad District.
Ottapalam Welfare Trust is a trust functioning under the guidance of many eminent personalities hailing from Kerala.  Established in 2001, the Trust aims to serve the weaker sections of the society especially women, children and elderly persons.   It focuses on two key areas viz. employment and health care.  Under the employment portfolio the Trust has taken up micro credit scheme as an instrument of development, which presently covers over 10,000 beneficiaries. 
Under the health care portfolio the Trust has started an eye care hospital with an aim of bringing quality eye care of international standard to the common man free of cost.   The hospital provides specialized facilities with qualified and experienced team of doctors and paramedical staff.   The Trust is now putting up its own building with two operation theatres to provide 500 to 600 free cataract operations annually.

RBI appeals not to deposit money with unincorporated bodies
Bhopal, Mar 11:
It has come to the notice of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) that some individuals/firms/unincorporated association of individuals (unincorporated bodies) have been collecting deposit from the public by making tall promises of high returns. Some of them are stated to have vanished without repaying the deposits.
Under section 45-S (1) of the Reserve Bank of India Act 1934 unincorporated bodies that are carrying on the business of a financial institutions or whose principal business is that of receiving deposits are prohibited from accepting deposits from the public.
Member of public is hereby cautioned not to deposit money with such incorporated bodies. Persons depositing money with such unincorporated bodies would be doing so at their own risk.
