CREDC to strengthen distribution network

Bhopal, March 3:
The Central Region Electricity Distribution Company (CREDC) Bhopal is making efforts to strengthen its electricity distribution network and make it more systematic in view of the increasing demand of electricity.
Various schemes are being run for this and their progress is as follows: JBIC Scheme. Approval of this scheme and 100 per cent loan amount is given by Japan Bank of International Cooperation through Government of India. Approval of the scheme has been granted for 13 districts for which scheme amount is Rs 66.33 crore. Under the sanctioned scheme work of 36 new 33/11 KV sub stations, 21 new additional power transformer, 33 KV line at a distance of 429 km and 11 KV line is to be laid on 362 km.

Rajeev Gandhi Rural Electrification Scheme:
Under this scheme target of electrification of all the houses of villages having population of more than 300 has been set. This scheme is to be completed by the year 2012. Ninety per cent fund of this scheme is given as grant by Government of India and the remaining 10 per cent amount is given as loan from State government.

ADB phase II
Under this scheme works of Rs 960 crore are proposed to be done in urban and rural areas in three phases. In first phase in urban areas works of Rs 95 crore are proposed and for higher class consumers orders have been given to start remote metering. By December 31, 2009 works of Rs 48 crore have been completed.
Other schemes under which works are in progress are RAPDRP, permanent agriculture pump connection, SSTD Scheme etc.
