Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the State government is committed to extending maximum facilities to non-resident Indians (NRIs) for setting up industries in Madhya Pradesh. An Integrated Industrial Township will be developed for non-resident Indians between Bhopal and Indore. Besides, an NRI Cell is also being constituted. The Cell will function under CM's Secretariat and its work will be looked after by Secretary to CM, Anurag Jain. Addressing the daylong Bharatiya Pravasi Sammelan at Hotel Nur-us-Sabah here today, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Indian Diasporas residing in various countries have brought laurels to both India and Madhya Pradesh. The purpose behind organizing Bharatiya Pravasi Sammelan is augmentation of investments as well as establishment of cordial relations with the NRIs having connection with or interest in Madhya Pradesh. We also welcome the NRIs from other states. After getting apprised of specialties of Madhya Pradesh, a number of NRI industrialists have taken initiative for industrial development in the state. Madhya Pradesh government will provide necessary infrastructure for industries to be set up by these industrialists.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh boasts of three Global Heritages including Sanchi, Bhojpur and Bhimbethka. Apart from being in the heart of the country, Madhya Pradesh is also free from terrorism, Naxalism and dacoit menace. Lands are cheaper in comparison to other states and people and government of the state are cooperative. The industries are getting benefit of this industrial peace and 24-hour power. He said that working on seven priorities, the state government has constantly improved the situation of power, roads and water and has taken up speedy work for infrastructure development. In the next three years, all the villages will be connected to all-weather roads. The state will soon become self-reliant in power sector. An ideal atmosphere prevails in Madhya Pradesh for industries coming to the state. Chouhan hoped that NRIs and other industrialists will take initiative for setting up their units in Madhya Pradesh.
Chouhan honoured three NRIs for their best contribution. They include Deepchand Vyas, Rashmi Shah and Anurag Shrivastava. The honoured industrialists said that they have come to attend the conference only due to their attachment with Madhya Pradesh.
Commerce & Industry, Information Technology and Gramodyog Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said that once Madhya Pradesh was known for its worst roads and darkness in India and abroad. Now, a network of quality roads has been thrown around the state. Unprecedented improvement has been made in power supply. Besides, industrialists are finding a positive atmosphere for setting up their industrial units. There is a wave of development blowing across the state under the leadership of Chouhan. The increasing interest of farmers in growing chillies in Nimar and potatoes and fruits in Malwa regions have paved way for setting up of food processing units. Industrialists are getting fulsome cooperation due to strong political and administrative willpower. Congratulating the visiting NRIs for establishing an emotional attachment with Madhya Pradesh, Vijayvargiya hoped that NRIs will work as ambassadors of Madhya Pradesh in foreign countries.
A short film was screened at the conference on investment feasibilities in Madhya Pradesh and presentations were made about possibilities of tourism, agriculture & food processing, information technology and biotechnology. The presentations were made on behalf of these departments by Sarvashri Iqbal Singh Bains, Anil Shrivastava, Anurag Jain and SK Pawar.
Several NRIs held talks with Chouhan during the open session. They included Umesh Chandra, Rajiv Saxena, PC Tripathi, Dilip Shrivastava, Dr. Mahesh Modi, Vimal Sadani, Arjun Jasuja, Ali, Nafis Khan, Anjali Jain etc. At the outset, Principal Secretary Industry & Commerce Satya Prakash delivered the welcome address. TRIFAC managing director Praveen Garg threw light in detail on the facilities being extended by the state government for setting up industries. Various departments had put up exhibitions at the conference venue.
Finance Minister Raghavji and Chief Secretary Rakesh Sahni were also present at the conference.
