Indian cricket stars bat for hearing impaired children

Indian cricketers are now batting for the hearing impaired, parting with their cricket gloves, pads and jerseys used in the recent series against Sri Lanka for auctioning at www.straightline.in in support of these children. The memorabilia available for bidding at straightline.in from December 22, 2009 comprises actual gear worn by the cricketers in the recently concluded Test series and the Test matches played during India's tour of Sri Lanka. The players have personally autographed these souvenirs, which include batting gloves of the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, batting pads and jersey of the current Team India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and rising cricket talent Suresh Raina's jersey and gloves.
The online bidding at www.straightline.in started on and from December 22, 2009 and will continue till January 4, 2010, aims to raise funds for VAANI Deaf Children's Foundation-benefiting the hearing-impaired children in India, a release stated here today.
Among the memorablia available for bidding include Sachin Tendulkar's batting gloves. The gloves were worn by the batting maestro during the overseas India-Sri Lanka tour in early 2009.
Indian captain M S Dhoni's wicket keeping pads also personally autographed by Dhoni, who had worn these during the overseas India - Sri Lanka tour in early 2009. Rahul Dravid's India Team T-Shirt, worn by ''The Wall'' during the overseas India - Sri Lanka tour in early 2009. Suresh Raina's India Team T-Shirt and batting gloves worn by the southpaw during the overseas India - Sri Lanka tour in early 2009. All these memobralia have been personally autographed by the players, the release added.
